Stichting Leveronderzoek

Stichting Leveronderzoek (SLO), also known as the Foundation for Liver and Gastrointestinal Research, is a Dutch non-profit organization founded in 1985 and based at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam. The foundation serves as a key facilitator for scientific research in hepatology and gastroenterology, operating a Clinical Research Bureau (CRB) that coordinates national and international clinical trials ranging from Phase 1 to Phase 4. SLO's research focus includes liver transplantation, viral hepatitis (B and C), and various chronic liver diseases such as primary biliary cholangitis and MASLD. It collaborates extensively with academic institutions and pharmaceutical companies to advance the prevention and treatment of liver and gastrointestinal disorders through both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies.
