Stiftung Juliusspital Würzburg is a historic non-profit foundation based in Bavaria, Germany, established in 1576 by Prince-Bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn. The foundation operates as a major healthcare provider through the Klinikum Juliusspital, an acute care hospital that serves as an academic teaching facility for the University of Würzburg. In addition to medical services, the foundation provides extensive elderly care, palliative care, and hospice services. Uniquely, the foundation is also home to one of the largest and most prestigious wineries in Germany, the Weingut Juliusspital, whose proceeds help fund the foundation's charitable and healthcare missions. Its operations span healthcare, social welfare, agriculture, and viticulture, maintaining a self-sustaining charitable model for over four centuries.
