Company intelligence / Profile preview
Octagon Therapeutics was a biotechnology company focused on developing first-in-class therapies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases by targeting glyco-immune checkpoints. The company's approach centered on restoring the natural regulatory role of Siglec receptors, such as Siglec-2 (CD22), to suppress pathologically activated B cells without compromising healthy immune function. Originally founded to develop novel antibiotics, Octagon pivoted to immunology and established a significant research alliance with Novo Nordisk in 2022. Despite selecting a development candidate for its lead program, OCT50, the company announced its closure in April 2025 due to unresolved biology questions and the deprioritization of its lead efforts. Its co-founder and CEO, Isaac Stoner, subsequently transitioned to lead MindImmune Therapeutics.
