Company intelligence / Profile preview
STZ eyetrial is a leading academic clinical research organization specializing in ophthalmology. It conducts and manages over 30 clinical studies annually across all phases and indications affecting the eye. The center has pioneered ocular gene therapy in Germany and is currently running early-phase trials for gene therapies targeting rare inherited retinal diseases such as achromatopsia and retinitis pigmentosa. Notably, its rAAV8.hPDE6A program for PDE6A-associated retinitis pigmentosa has shown that while generally well-tolerated, some patients experienced moderate to severe vision loss; most adverse effects were mild and temporary[4][7]. Its RAAV.hCNGA3 program is also in phase 1/2 trials[8][9].
