Sub Surface Waste Management (SSWM) was an environmental biotechnology company that specialized in the remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater. A subsidiary of U.S. Microbics, the company utilized proprietary microbial technology to provide engineered solutions for the cleanup of toxic waste releases. Its core business involved the application of 'bioremediation,' using specific microbial blends to degrade pollutants in-situ or through its Bio-Raptor ex-situ treatment system. SSWM served a variety of industrial and government clients, primarily in the United States and Mexico, before undergoing a corporate name change to Green Mountain Development Corp in 2008.
