Sudbury General Hospital

Sudbury General Hospital was a major acute care healthcare facility located in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Established by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie, the hospital served as a primary medical hub for the Northeastern Ontario region for over 50 years. It provided a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, trauma care, surgery, and maternal health. In 2001, as part of a regional healthcare restructuring, the hospital merged with Laurentian Hospital and Sudbury Memorial Hospital to form the Sudbury Regional Hospital, which is now known as Health Sciences North. The original hospital building on Paris Street remains a prominent local landmark, though clinical operations have been consolidated into the Health Sciences North main campus.
