Company intelligence / Profile preview
Sumitomo Capital Securities was a Japanese financial services firm and a subsidiary of Sumitomo Bank (now Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation). Founded in 1994, the company specialized in capital market services, including the underwriting of corporate bonds and financial advisory for institutional clients. In 1999, it merged with the wholesale operations of Daiwa Securities to form Daiwa Securities SB Capital Markets, which eventually became part of SMBC Nikko Securities. Although not a life science company itself, its former personnel have transitioned into executive roles within the biotechnology sector, notably at companies like StemRIM and MediciNova.
