Company intelligence / Profile preview
Sunergia, Inc. was a private biotechnology company based in South San Francisco and Suzhou, China, focused on the discovery and development of novel small molecule inhibitors for oncology and immunology. The company's primary research centered on targeting the MALT1 (Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation protein 1) protease, a critical mediator in the NF-κB signaling pathway within immune cells. By developing potent and selective MALT1 inhibitors, Sunergia aimed to address significant unmet needs in aggressive B-cell malignancies, such as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), as well as various inflammatory conditions. In April 2022, Sunergia was acquired by Janssen Biotech, Inc. (a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson) to integrate its MALT1 program into Janssen's robust oncology and immunology pipelines.
