SuperArray Bioscience

SuperArray Bioscience Corporation, later rebranded as SABiosciences, was a biotechnology company focused on developing tools for pathway-specific gene expression analysis. The company's flagship technology was the RT² Profiler PCR Array, which enabled researchers to analyze panels of genes associated with specific biological pathways using real-time PCR. Their product portfolio also included solutions for RNA interference, such as siRNA, as well as cell-based assays and recombinant proteins. Based in Frederick, Maryland, the company served the academic and pharmaceutical research markets by simplifying complex genomic experiments. In 2008, SuperArray was acquired by QIAGEN for approximately $14.8 million to expand QIAGEN's presence in functional genomics. Following the acquisition, its operations were integrated into QIAGEN's molecular diagnostics and research tool divisions.
