Supportive Oncology Solution

Supportive Oncology Services (SOS) was a healthcare technology and clinical research company based in Memphis, Tennessee, that specialized in improving the quality of life for cancer patients. Founded in 2002 by Dr. Lee Schwartzberg and Dr. Barry Fortner, the company developed the proprietary Patient Care Monitor (PCM), a touch-screen system that enabled patients to report symptoms and quality-of-life data directly to their physicians at the point of care. SOS also established the Accelerated Community Oncology Research Network (ACORN), a community-based clinical research organization that facilitated oncology trials. In 2005, the company was acquired by IMPAC Medical Systems, which was subsequently integrated into Elekta, and its technologies became a core component of the MOSAIQ oncology information system.
