SurgRx

SurgRx was a medical technology company that developed and commercialized advanced bipolar electrosurgical instruments. Its flagship product, the EnSeal Tissue Sealing and Hemostasis System, utilized a proprietary Smart Electrode technology to provide uniform tissue compression and temperature control during surgical procedures. This technology allowed surgeons to seal vessels up to 7mm in diameter with minimal lateral thermal spread to surrounding tissues. The company's products were designed for both laparoscopic and open surgical procedures across various specialties, including general surgery, gynecology, and urology. SurgRx was acquired by Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, in 2008 to bolster their surgical energy portfolio.
