Company intelligence / Profile preview
Suzhou Sun-Now Biopharmaceutical, also known as Neuralstem China or Suzhou Shennao, was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Neuralstem, Inc. (later Seneca Biopharma). Founded in 2010 and based in Suzhou, China, the company was established to develop and manufacture neural stem cell therapies for the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Its lead candidate, NSI-566, is a human spinal cord-derived neural stem cell line that was evaluated in clinical trials for motor deficits following ischemic stroke, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and spinal cord injury. The company operated a clinical-grade manufacturing facility in Suzhou to support its regional clinical programs. Following the merger of Seneca Biopharma with Leading BioSciences to form Palisade Bio in 2021, the stem cell assets were deprioritized and placed into a contingent value rights (CVR) structure, and the subsidiary's active operations have since ceased.
