Overview
Switch Biotech AG was a German biotechnology company founded in 1997, specializing in functional genomics for dermatology and wound healing. The company utilized its proprietary DADA (Digital Analysis of cDNA Abundance) platform to identify and validate gene targets involved in the molecular pathophysiology of skin diseases. Switch Biotech established significant research and development partnerships, notably with Leo Pharma and 4SC, to discover and screen novel therapies for conditions such as psoriasis and chronic wounds. Despite its innovative technology and early-stage pipeline, the company filed for insolvency in 2004 and is currently defunct.
