Sydney Orthopaedic Research Institute

Sydney Orthopaedic Research Institute (SORI) is an Australian non-profit organization dedicated to the study, research, and clinical advancement of orthopaedic knee disorders. Established in 2002 by Dr. Myles Coolican and Dr. David Parker, the institute aims to improve diagnoses and treatments to restore optimal knee function and delay or eliminate the need for joint replacement surgery. SORI conducts biomechanical, biomedical engineering, and clinical outcomes studies, leveraging advanced technologies such as robotics and computer-assisted surgery. The institute is also globally recognized for its clinical fellowship and training programs, which educate the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and researchers. SORI operates out of the Landmark Orthopaedics facility in St Leonards, New South Wales, collaborating closely with clinical partners to translate research into improved patient care.
