Syena

Syena was launched in February 2023 by Replay and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center to pioneer first-in-class engineered allogeneic T-cell receptor natural killer (TCR-NK) cell therapies. Its lead asset—cord blood-derived NK cells expressing an affinity-enhanced NY‑ESO‑1-specific TCR—entered a Phase 1/2 study for multiple myeloma patients in early/mid 2024. The company has rapidly expanded its pipeline through exclusive licenses covering additional tumor antigens including PRAME, KRAS, p53, HPV16, MAGE family members. Early results are not yet public but the platform aims to combine the safety/scalability advantages of allogeneic NK cells with the intracellular target reach of engineered TCRs—a next-generation approach beyond CAR-T/CAR-NK therapies.
