Synactix Pharmaceuticals

Synactix Pharmaceuticals was a preclinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing novel small-molecule cancer therapies using a medicinal chemistry polypharmacology (MCP) approach. Founded as a spin-off from the University of Arizona, the company engineered single-agent therapeutics designed to simultaneously target multiple disease pathways to overcome drug resistance and improve efficacy. Its lead candidate, Pz-1, was designed as a potent dual RET/VEGFR2 and TRK kinase inhibitor for the treatment of medullary thyroid cancer and other RET-driven malignancies. Additionally, the company worked on SP-146, an oral Aurora B kinase inhibitor for acute myeloid leukemia, and CMP3a, a NEK2 inhibitor for glioblastoma. Synactix ceased operations around 2022 after its founders transitioned to other academic roles.
