SynaPix

Synapix was a medical technology company specializing in advanced 3D image processing and computer vision software for healthcare applications. Spun off from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) and the research institute IMEC, the company developed sophisticated algorithms for the reconstruction and analysis of medical images. Its technology was primarily utilized in the dental and orthopedic sectors to assist in surgical planning and the creation of patient-specific anatomical models. Synapix was acquired by Materialise in 2004, where its core technologies were integrated into Materialise's medical software suite to enhance 3D visualization and surgical simulation capabilities.
