Syndeio Biosciences has launched with over $90 million in funding to pioneer precision neurotherapeutics targeting synaptic repair and enhancement. Its lead asset, zelquistinel, a next-generation NMDA receptor modulator originally developed at Naurex, is in Phase II trials for major depressive disorder and will soon enter a biomarker-driven trial in Alzheimer’s disease. Apimostinel, another program, is also in Phase II for acute depression. The company leverages the proprietary Boost™ platform to optimize drug candidates that restore neural connectivity through event-driven pharmacology. The team includes experienced neurotherapeutics entrepreneurs and Nobel laureate Thomas C. Südhof as co-founder.[1][4][6]
