Company intelligence / Profile preview
Synomics was a UK-based agtech and genomics company that applied combinatorial analytics to animal and crop datasets to generate biological insights for food production and animal health. The company was launched in 2021 as a PrecisionLife spin-out with backing from Wheatsheaf Group, and it licensed PrecisionLife’s analytics platform for applications in livestock and crop improvement. Rather than developing human therapeutics, Synomics focused on discovering genomic and multi-omic signals associated with production traits, resilience, and health in agricultural systems. Its business model appears to have centered on platform-enabled discovery and insight generation for agricultural and animal health partners. The UK legal entity was subsequently dissolved in September 2024.
