Synovics Laboratories

Synovics Laboratories was a pharmaceutical company specializing in the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of generic prescription drugs. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the company focused on a variety of therapeutic areas, including respiratory health and pain management, with a particular emphasis on oral solid dose and topical formulations. It operated as the primary manufacturing and R&D arm of Synovics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. before its assets were acquired by Akorn, Inc. in 2013. Following the acquisition, Synovics functioned as a subsidiary within Akorn's manufacturing network, providing affordable generic alternatives to the U.S. market. However, the company is currently inactive following the Chapter 7 bankruptcy and complete liquidation of its parent company, Akorn, in February 2023.
