Synvivia has developed a proprietary genetically encoded biocontainment system using engineered protein switches that act as ON-OFF controls for living cells and organisms. These switches respond to small molecule signals and can be used to control or contain genetically modified organisms across various environments—including blood and nonsterile soil—enabling safer deployment of synthetic biology solutions outside the laboratory.
