Company intelligence / Profile preview
T Cell Sciences was a pioneer in the biotechnology sector, focusing on the development of diagnostic and therapeutic products for immune system disorders. Founded in 1984, the company specialized in T-cell receptor technology and the development of soluble immune receptors to modulate inflammatory and autoimmune responses. Its lead therapeutic candidate, TP10 (soluble complement receptor 1), was designed to inhibit the complement system in conditions such as reperfusion injury and ARDS. The company also successfully commercialized several diagnostic kits for monitoring immune system activity. In 1998, T Cell Sciences merged with Virus Research Institute to form Avant Immunotherapeutics, which eventually became part of Celldex Therapeutics.
