Company intelligence / Profile preview
TxCell was a French biotechnology company focused on personalized cell immunotherapies based on regulatory T cells for severe chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and later transplant-related applications. Its core technology centered on antigen-specific Type 1 regulatory T cells (Ag-Tregs), with a lead program, Ovasave, reaching Phase 2 in refractory Crohn's disease. The company also advanced a genetically engineered CAR-Treg platform intended to combine antigen specificity with the suppressive biology of Tregs. TxCell was listed on Euronext Paris under the symbol TXCL and was acquired by Sangamo Therapeutics in 2018. Following the acquisition, TxCell became a Sangamo subsidiary and was delisted from the French stock market.
