Target Therapeutics was a pioneering medical device company that specialized in interventional neuroradiology, focusing on the treatment of neurovascular diseases such as brain aneurysms and strokes. The company is most famous for developing the Guglielmi Detachable Coil (GDC), a revolutionary technology that allowed for the minimally invasive endovascular treatment of aneurysms, significantly reducing the need for open-skull surgery. In addition to embolic coils, the company developed advanced microcatheters and guidewires designed to navigate the complex vasculature of the brain.
