Targeted Molecular Diagnostics

Targeted Molecular Diagnostics (TMD) was a specialized contract research organization (CRO) and CLIA-certified laboratory that provided molecular profiling and diagnostic services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Based in Westmont, Illinois, the company focused on supporting oncology clinical trials through the development and validation of biomarker assays, including immunohistochemistry (IHC) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). TMD played a critical role in the era of personalized medicine by helping drug developers identify specific patient populations for targeted therapies. The company was acquired by Precision Therapeutics in 2011, which later became part of Helomics and was eventually integrated into Predictive Oncology.
