Teal Light Surgical

Teal Light Surgical is a medical device company specializing in near-infrared (NIR) imaging technology for fluorescence-guided surgery. The company's primary product, the Canvas Imaging System (originally developed as the Synchronized InfraRed Imaging System or SIRIS), provides high-sensitivity detection of NIR light, allowing surgeons to visualize cancerous tissue in real-time during surgery. Founded in 2013 by neurosurgeons from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the company was acquired by Blaze Bioscience in 2019 to integrate its hardware with Blaze's 'Tumor Paint' (tozuleristide) drug. The combined technology is currently in pivotal Phase 2/3 clinical trials for pediatric brain cancer and is being explored for use in other solid tumors such as breast and lung cancer.
