Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Tech Valley Angel Network (TVAN) was an Albany, New York-based investment group dedicated to providing early-stage venture capital to technology-oriented startups. Managed by the Center for Economic Growth (CEG), the network consisted of accredited investors who pooled resources to fund and mentor entrepreneurs in the "Tech Valley" region of upstate New York. While TVAN was a generalist investor, it maintained a significant focus on the life sciences, biotechnology, and medical device sectors, leveraging the region's strong academic and research infrastructure. The organization played a crucial role in the regional ecosystem by bridging the gap between seed funding and institutional venture capital. Although the formal TVAN brand is no longer active, its functions have largely been absorbed into other regional investment initiatives.
