Technologie Biolactis was a Canadian biotechnology company that specialized in the development of 'lactoceuticals'—bioactive ingredients derived from the fermentation of whey. Founded in 1998 and based in Laval, Quebec, the company developed a proprietary technology called the Malleable Protein Matrix (MPM) using a specific strain of Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens. This matrix was rich in bioactive peptides and proteins designed to address cardiovascular health, metabolic syndrome, and inflammatory conditions. Although the company reached clinical stages with its lead programs and received regulatory clearance for its Nutractis ingredient, it is no longer active, with its founders moving on to other ventures in the life sciences sector.
