Technology Fund

The Technology Fund is a Swiss federal climate policy instrument that provides loan guarantees to innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) developing technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote the use of renewable energy, or conserve natural resources. While its primary focus is environmental technology, the fund significantly supports the life sciences and healthcare sectors through the financing of sustainable medical devices, green chemistry, and resource-efficient laboratory technologies. By bridging the financing gap for late-stage startups and established SMEs, the fund enables the commercialization of high-risk, high-impact innovations within the Swiss cleantech and biotech ecosystems. It operates under the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and is managed by an external secretariat.
