Company intelligence / Profile preview
Telemedicus, Inc. was a Houston-based medical technology company that specialized in advanced mobile medical communications and telemedicine solutions for emergency and disaster response. The company's flagship technology, the DREAMS (Disaster Relief and Emergency Medical Services) platform, was developed through a $20 million Department of Defense grant in collaboration with Texas A&M University and the University of Texas Health Science Center. DREAMS integrated high-definition video, medical monitoring, and global positioning systems to allow hospital-based specialists to virtually direct the treatment of trauma patients in ambulances or remote locations in real-time. Although the company was a pioneer in the tele-trauma space and was publicly traded under the symbol TMDI, it is currently considered inactive.
