Tergene Biotech is an Indian biotechnology company specializing in the development of affordable vaccines and bio-therapeutics, with a primary focus on bacterial infections. The company has developed a proprietary bio-conjugate platform technology utilizing CRM197 as a carrier protein to produce novel conjugate vaccines, including its lead candidate, a 15-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV15) which has completed Phase 3 clinical trials. In addition to vaccines, Tergene's pipeline includes biosimilars and therapeutic enzymes such as Terinase (a thrombolytic enzyme) and Streptokinase. Originally established as a joint venture, Tergene Biotech was fully acquired by Aurobindo Pharma in February 2025, transitioning into a direct subsidiary to strengthen Aurobindo's vaccine and biotech portfolio.
