Teva Women’s Health

Teva Women's Health was a specialized pharmaceutical business unit of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, dedicated to providing a comprehensive portfolio of products for women's reproductive health. The company's offerings included the Paragard intrauterine device, the Plan B One-Step emergency contraceptive, and a wide array of oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapies. In 2017, as part of a strategic restructuring to reduce debt, Teva divested the business unit through three separate transactions totaling approximately $2.48 billion. The US-based Paragard business was acquired by CooperSurgical, while the emergency contraception brands were sold to Foundation Consumer Healthcare. The remaining international women's health assets were acquired by CVC Capital Partners to form the independent company Theramex. This divestiture marked Teva's exit from a dedicated women's health specialty business to focus on its core generic and specialty portfolios.
