Texas Cord Blood Bank

The Texas Cord Blood Bank (TCBB) is a non-profit public cord blood bank based in San Antonio, Texas, and is a program of the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center. Established in 2005 through state legislation, the bank collects, processes, and stores umbilical cord blood units for use in life-saving stem cell transplants. TCBB is accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and is an affiliate of the Be The Match National Marrow Donor Program registry. The organization focuses on providing high-quality, ethnically diverse cord blood units to treat patients with over 80 different life-threatening diseases, including leukemia, lymphoma, and sickle cell anemia. As part of the BioBridge Global family of non-profits, TCBB also supports research and development in the field of regenerative medicine and cellular therapy. The bank operates as a public resource, meaning donated units are available to any patient in need of a matching transplant worldwide.
