TGN Biotech

TGN Biotech was a Canadian biotechnology company founded in 2000 as a spin-off from Laval University in Quebec. The company developed the proprietary "Semenesis" platform, which utilized transgenic pigs to produce recombinant therapeutic proteins within their seminal glands, offering a potentially more efficient and scalable alternative to traditional bioreactors. TGN Biotech targeted the production of high-value biogeneric proteins for a wide range of indications, including oncology, cardiovascular disorders, and infectious diseases. Although the company successfully raised venture capital and began constructing a specialized production facility, it ultimately ceased operations in the mid-2000s following regulatory and ethical challenges.
