Overview
Kaketsuken was a leading Japanese foundation specializing in the research, development, manufacture and supply of vaccines for humans and animals as well as blood plasma derivatives. It played a pivotal role in Japan’s public health through vaccine innovation and partnerships with major pharmaceutical companies. In recent years before its business transfer to KM Biologics in April 2018,[10] it had approved products such as DTaP-hepatitis B vaccine and H5N1 influenza vaccine.[7] It also contributed significantly to the eradication of diseases like smallpox and rabies in Japan.[8]
