The Heartbeat Trust

The Heartbeat Trust is an Irish non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and management of heart failure. Founded by specialists from St. Vincent's University Hospital, the Trust developed the landmark STOP-HF (Screening To Prevent Heart Failure) program, which utilizes natriuretic peptide biomarkers to identify at-risk patients. The organization provides specialized clinical services, patient support, and conducts extensive cardiovascular research to improve outcomes for those with heart disease. It has been instrumental in establishing heart failure clinics and virtual consultation services across Ireland to bridge the gap between primary and specialist care. In 2022, the Trust merged with Croí, the Heart & Stroke Charity, to consolidate cardiac support services and expand their national reach.
