The Leprosy Mission

The Leprosy Mission is an international Christian non-governmental organization dedicated to defeating leprosy and supporting those affected by the disease. Founded in 1874, the organization operates in over 30 countries, providing essential healthcare services including diagnosis, multi-drug therapy, and specialized reconstructive surgery. In addition to clinical care, the mission conducts extensive research into leprosy transmission, diagnostics, and vaccine development, notably collaborating on the LepVax candidate. Their holistic approach also encompasses community-based rehabilitation, education, and advocacy to eliminate the social stigma associated with the disease.
