The Ottawa Hospital Cell Manufacturing Facility, also known as the Biotherapeutics Manufacturing Centre (BMC), is Canada's most experienced academic facility for manufacturing biological products for clinical trials. Operating within the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, it provides Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant services for cell-based therapies, gene therapies, and viral vectors. The facility has supported over 20 phase I/II clinical trials globally, producing materials for indications such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and regenerative medicine. It offers a comprehensive suite of services including process development, assay validation, and aseptic fill-finish.
