The PC Project

The Pachyonychia Congenita Project (PC Project) is a specialized non-profit organization that functions as a central hub for research and drug development for Pachyonychia Congenita (PC), a rare genetic skin disorder. By maintaining the International PC Research Registry (IPCRR), the organization provides pharmaceutical partners with access to a well-characterized patient population, which is critical for orphan drug development. The PC Project coordinates the International PC Consortium (IPCC), a collaborative network of over 500 physicians and scientists dedicated to identifying therapeutic targets. Historically, the organization facilitated the first-ever human clinical trial for a siRNA-based therapeutic. Today, it continues to drive the pipeline by supporting clinical trials for repurposed small molecules and novel keratin-inhibiting therapies.
