The Sanfilippo Research Foundation

The Sanfilippo Research Foundation, also known as Ben's Dream, is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding medical research to find a cure for Sanfilippo Syndrome (Mucopolysaccharidosis type III). Founded by Jennifer and Stuart Siedman, the foundation has been instrumental in supporting the development of gene therapies, particularly the work of Dr. Haiyan Fu at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The foundation played a critical role in the formation and early funding of Abeona Therapeutics to advance these therapies into clinical trials. It operates as part of a global consortium of Sanfilippo foundations to accelerate therapeutic development for this rare genetic disorder.
