The University of Kansas Health System

The University of Kansas Hospital Authority is the legal public authority that operates The University of Kansas Health System, a nonprofit academic medical center based in Kansas City, Kansas. The organization provides tertiary and quaternary hospital care, physician services, emergency and trauma care, transplantation, oncology, cardiovascular care and a broad range of specialty services, while also supporting medical education and clinical research. It became an independent hospital authority in 1998 and the clinical enterprise was expanded in 2017 through the combination of The University of Kansas Hospital with University of Kansas Physicians to form The University of Kansas Health System.
