Thea Bowman Wellness Institute

The Thea Bowman Center for Health Equity, established by Episcopal Health Services (EHS), is a healthcare and research initiative focused on addressing health disparities and promoting wellness in the Rockaway, Queens community. Named after Sister Thea Bowman, the center integrates clinical services with community outreach and research to improve health outcomes for underserved populations. Its primary facility, the Thea Bowman Women's Wellness Center, provides comprehensive women's health services, including OB/GYN, imaging, and preventative care. The center also conducts research into social determinants of health and partners with local organizations to provide education and resources. By focusing on health equity, the institute aims to eliminate barriers to quality care and foster a healthier community through sustainable, patient-centered programs.
