Overview

TheraMAB developed theralizumab (TAB08/TGN1412), a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody targeting CD28 for autoimmune diseases and cancer. The drug was originally developed by TeGenero as TGN1412 but caused severe adverse events in its first-in-human trial in 2006. After TeGenero’s bankruptcy, rights were acquired by TheraMAB. Subsequent trials included Phase II for systemic lupus erythematosus and Phase I/II for plaque psoriasis; some trials were terminated due to administrative reasons or lack of progress. No recent clinical results are reported since 2021.
