Company intelligence / Profile preview
Theravex was an Israeli biotechnology company focused on developing innovative treatments for urological cancers, specifically non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). The company's lead product, Theravex-EG, is a proprietary formulation of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG), the standard-of-care immunotherapy for NMIBC, licensed from the French company Euro-Glycan. Theravex aimed to optimize the delivery and therapeutic profile of BCG to improve patient outcomes and address global supply shortages of the treatment. In 2013, the company was acquired by UroGen Pharma (formerly TheraCoat), which integrated the Theravex-EG program into its specialized urology pipeline. UroGen continues to evaluate the regulatory and clinical path for Theravex-EG alongside its other urothelial cancer therapies.
