TherImmune Research Corporation was a prominent contract research organization (CRO) based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, that specialized in preclinical drug development services. The company provided a comprehensive suite of services including toxicology, pharmacology, and ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) studies to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. Known for its expertise in toxicogenomics, TherImmune played a critical role in the early-stage safety assessment of drug candidates. In 2003, the company was acquired by Gene Logic Inc. for approximately $52 million to integrate its preclinical capabilities with Gene Logic's genomic data platforms. Following subsequent divestitures, its assets eventually became part of larger global CRO networks, including Pharmaron.
