Thomas Processing, formerly known as Thomas Engineering, is a U.S.-based manufacturer of tablet coating and related solid-dose processing equipment serving pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and over-the-counter product manufacturers. The company is best known for its Accela-Cota technology and a portfolio of batch, pilot, R&D, and continuous tablet coating systems, along with ancillary coating subsystems, process support, spare parts, installation, and qualification services. Founded in 1959, it has a long operating history in solid oral dose manufacturing equipment rather than drug discovery or therapeutic development. Since May 2021, the business has been part of IMA and positioned within IMA Active as a coating-focused center of excellence for the North American market and broader global customer base.
