Thrombotech developed THR‐18, a synthetic peptide designed to improve the safety and efficacy of tPA-based thrombolytic therapy for ischemic stroke by reducing life-threatening side effects such as brain hemorrhage. The company completed Phase I and initiated multi-center Phase IIa trials in Israel, Europe, India, and received FDA IND approval for U.S. trials around 2012. The trial aimed to demonstrate improved safety when used alongside tPA compared to tPA alone.
