Tibotec was a Belgian pharmaceutical company specializing in the discovery and development of treatments for life-threatening infectious diseases, particularly HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and Tuberculosis. Founded in 1994, the company gained international recognition for its highly efficient antiviral research platform and its success in bringing multiple breakthrough therapies to market. Key products developed by Tibotec include the protease inhibitor Prezista (darunavir) and the non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors Intelence (etravirine) and Edurant (rilpivirine).
