Ticona was a global leader in the production of high-performance engineering polymers and operated as the technical polymers business of Celanese Corporation. The company was a critical supplier to the healthcare industry, providing medical-grade plastics such as Hostaform acetal copolymer (POM) and GUR ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) for use in drug delivery devices, orthopedic implants, and surgical instruments. In 2013, Celanese integrated the Ticona brand into its core corporate identity to unify its global operations. Despite the rebranding, the legacy Ticona product lines remain industry standards for medical device engineering and pharmaceutical packaging applications.
