Company intelligence / Profile preview
TLC Family Health Plan, officially Memphis Managed Care Corporation, was a managed care organization (MCO) that provided healthcare services to Medicaid beneficiaries in Tennessee through the TennCare program. Founded in 1994 as a joint venture between the Regional Medical Center at Memphis and the UT Medical Group, the company primarily served the West Tennessee region. At its peak, it was the largest health plan in its service area, managing care for approximately 167,000 enrollees. The company offered a range of services including primary care coordination, disease management, and specialty pharmacy programs. In 2007, the company's assets and membership were acquired by AMERIGROUP Corporation for $12 million. This acquisition integrated the plan into AMERIGROUP's statewide network, marking the end of its independent operation as a provider-owned MCO.
